Shape the Future of PayFi: Join the Concordium Governance Committee

It’s that time of year again! Concordium opens the call for community candidate nominations to run in the 2025 Governance Committee election.
As Concordium continues its journey toward greater decentralization and community empowerment, we’re excited to open the call for candidates for the 2025 Governance Committee (GC) elections.
The Concordium Governance Committee plays a vital role in advising the Foundation Board and the Executive Management Group on the development of the protocol, ensuring the network continues to evolve in line with its core principles and its current strategy to become a PayFi leader. While the GC does not hold executive power, it acts as a key advisory and oversight body, supporting long-term growth, protocol integrity, and the gradual shift toward full decentralization. It represents the voice of the community—ecosystem partners, builders and token holders.
The Role of a Governance Committee Member
Serving on the Governance Committee means advising Concordium through the next phases of its evolution. Its members work not only in the interest of the broader ecosystem as they assess technical and tokenomics proposals, or recommend new features and changes, but also with the community and decentralization in mind.
As a Governance Committee member, your core tasks will include:
- Regular evaluations of the network’s tokenomics to ensure long-term sustainability and fair incentives
- Proposal reviews for new PayFi tooling, including protocol-level tokens and smart money capabilities
- Recommending new features and updates to Concordium management and the Foundation.
- Development and refinement of the governance framework to enhance community participation and network decentralization
Typically, committee members come from diverse professional backgrounds and are part of the Concordium ecosystem or the Web3 community, but they all have one thing in common — to help Concordium thrive.
A Call for Candidates
Concordium needs YOU!! With the elections coming up in June, this is the moment for you to step up and nominate yourselves for candidacy. If you’re an active participant in the Concordium ecosystem — whether as a developer, Web3 entrepreneur, community member, node runner, or CCD holder — this is your opportunity to shape Concordium’s future.
Ideal candidates are passionate advocates for decentralization, PayFi innovation, and advancing a compliance-ready Web3 infrastructure for real-world adoption. GC candidates should also enjoy engaging with the community to represent token holders in all things governance as well as be proactive in steering the evolution of stablecoins and PayFi features like protocol-level tokens, programmable payments, ZKP identity integrations.
Once elected, candidates must also be willing to embrace and adhere to the rules of the Concordium Governance Framework.
The Election Process

Candidate Nominations & Campaigning
- Nomination Period: May 8 — May 22, 2025
- To nominate yourself, simply announce your candidacy to the community and complete the official candidate form. To ensure a streamlined voting process, only 10 candidates will make it on the final ballot. If more than 10 candidates apply, the top 10 by CCD holdings will be shortlisted for the final election.
- Campaigning: Once the nomination period closes, a final list of candidates will be publicly revealed. Each candidate will then run their own campaign to present their background, vision, and motivation to the community.
Community Voting
- Voting period: June 6–19, 2025
- Voting takes place on-chain. All Concordium account holders are eligible, with voting weight based on the average CCD balance held between February 26 and May 25, 2025.
- Results will be published by June 27, 2025.
Our elections provide full ballot privacy and end-to-end verifiability. They are safeguarded by randomly selected community guardians, ensuring a decentralized and secure process. The detailed nomination and election rules are found here.
